What Are Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs)?
Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs) are electric vehicles that generate their own electricity using hydrogen instead of relying on plug-in charging. Inside an FCEV, hydrogen from the fuel tank combines with oxygen from the air in a fuel cell stack to create electricity, which then powers the electric motor. The only byproduct is water vapour, meaning zero tailpipe emissions.
Refuelling takes about five minutes and provides up to 647 km of driving range (based on Toyota Mirai estimates)
