Toyota Safety Sense has been designed to provide drivers with advance safety system technologies to assist with minimizing vehicle accidents. The Toyota Safety Sense technology is included standard in a majority of Toyota's 2018 vehicle lineup. There are 2 different Safety Sense packages available depending on your vehicle model & trim level:

Toyota Safety Sense C

Combines a camera and laser for outstanding reliability and can help mitigate or prevent collisions under certain circumstances.

Toyota Safety Sense P

Toyota Safety Sense P technologies combine a camera within the vehicle and millimeter-wave radar to detect your vehicles chances of getting into an accident.

Pre-Collision System (PCS)

Toyota's Pre-Collision System technology helps avoid or reduce the impact speed and damage in certain frontal collision with other vehicles. PCS will actually stop your vehicle if it detects something infront. Watch the pre-collision system in action below in the 2 videos!

How It Works
Step 1. Vehicle detects object ahead
Step 2. Vehicle will display brake on the dash
Step 3. If driver does not press brake, vehicle will provide additional braking force during emergency braking

Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection Function

Provides collision avoidance or damage mitigation support in speed ranges in which frontal collisions are likely to occur. In certain conditions, the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection may also help to detect pedestrians and help prevent or mitigate a collision.

Lane Departure Alert (LDA)

Alerts you if you start to drift out of your lane when visible lane markings are detected.

How It Works
Step 1. Painted Lines are detected on side of the road
Step 2. Nothing will light up if within lines
Step 3. When crossing a line, display will highlight the painted lines  you're going over

Lane Departure Alert With Steering Assist

Alerts you if you start to drift out of your lane when visible lane markings are detected. On some models the Steering Assist function may also provide corrective steering action if necessary.

Automatic High Beam (AHB)

Designed to detect oncoming vehicles’ lights and depending upon the circumstances, AHB can switch between high and low beams for you.

How It Works

Full-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)

Using forward sensing radar technology, DRCC can automatically adjust vehicle speed to help maintain a pre-set following distance between you and the vehicle directly in front of you.
